Turkey's First Two DAAD Students Visiting Soft Matter Lab

This summer, two German students (Lukas Barth and Falko Schmidt) will be visiting
Soft Matter Lab for their DAAD Internship.

DAAD (the German Academic Exchange Service) through the RISE program (Research
Internships in Science and Engineering) selects the most qualified students and offer
them the possibility of an intership abroad.

Bilkent University, through Giovanni Volpe's group, had been the first university in Turkey
to adhere to the RISE program and is now the first to host two German students for RISE
internship.

Lukas Barth (Heidelberg University) is working on a project entitled
"Experimental Measurement of Critical Casimir Forces"; he arrived
on May 23rd and will stay until July 26th.
Falko Schmidt (Leipzig University) will work on "Experimental Studies
of Microswimmers"
; he will arrive in August and stay until the end of
September.
